Room 607 - Sci-Fi / Fantasy

Friday June 30, 2017 - 11:30 am to 12:20 pm

The entertainment industry today is flooded with new technology that can be used in an educational environment. From the newest versions of virtual reality, to the proprietary technologies that aren’t even on the market yet, we as students have had a unique opportunity to utilize some of the most groundbreaking equipment the industry has to offer. This panel will share our perspective and discuss our experiences of working with top of the line equipment and software to make incredible games and works of art. We will show how, through self discipline and a little bit of luck, those who want to develop games could have the opportunity to do so. We will cover topics from developing nearly for free with applications like Swift and Unreal Engine, all the way up to developing for items like the HTC Vive and Microsoft Hololens. By the end of the panel, we hope that the audience will have a solid understanding of how they, too, could become game developers, and have as much of a passion for development as we do.
