Are you interested in volunteering at Bell County Comic Con? If so, please continue reading…
Agreeing to volunteer for Bell County Comic Con should not be taken lightly. Volunteers put in long hours, mostly on their feet, and sometimes sacrifice the chance to enjoy the convention itself. There are benefits however: getting to see how a convention works from the inside, making new friends, Volunteer Swag, and meeting our celebrities and special guests.
Each volunteer gets a volunteer t-shirt (to be worn while on duty), an exclusive BCCC Volunteer Badge and admission to the convention for the weekend. You will also be provided with meals, light snacks and water, on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Please don’t volunteer if you don’t have time to work at least two six hour shifts on either Friday, Saturday and/or Sunday. Volunteers pay their dues by working hard to serve thousands of guests each day of the convention. If you can’t commit, or think volunteering will conflict with your favorite program or activity, you should pay for admission instead. If you do believe this is something you want to do, please fill out the form.
Please Note: Volunteers who work three or more six hour shifts on either Friday, Saturday and/or Sunday will receive comic con weekend admission for one additional family member in addition to themselves upon check-in for their third shift.
Security — Maintain a safe environment for all attendees and participants, check attendees are wearing proper credentials, watch emergency exit points, check cosplay weapons, check bags, coordinate with local police and security personnel.
Ticketing / Merchandise Booth — Take money or credit card transactions for tickets and/or merchandise, scan will call tickets and hand out show credentials, hand out programs/maps.
Panels — Maintain the schedule, help speakers with any problems. AV experience will be given first priority.
Convention Set Up / Break Down – Help with load in/load out, set up of exhibitor room floor, set up of pipe and drape for celebrity booths, etc. Then break it all down and load it out. May require heavy lifting.
Hospitality Team – Customer service and assistance with a SMILE to all of our exhibitors, sponsors, guests, celebrities, staff and your fellow volunteers.
Information Team – Help convention attendees with questions and concerns, either as a roving information center or at the designated info booth. Direct attendee traffic and manage lines at registration and before the convention opens.
Celebrity Team – Help manage the lines and questions at the celebrity booths with a SMILE. Assist celebrity guests with sales at booth and take credit card/cash transactions, keep an accurate record of sales at celebrity booth. Help celebrity guest get to panels, photo ops and breaks at the correct times and places.
Please understand that you are volunteering to work at least two six hour shifts on either Friday, Saturday and/or Sunday. Also please note, you must be 18 years of age (by the date of the show) to volunteer. If age 16-18, you may volunteer only if your parent or guardian are volunteering as well. All minors will be on the same shift and team as their parent or guardian.
Please understand that you will be assigned a position and times to volunteer and breaks in which you will be able to enjoy the show.
Mandatory Volunteer Training will be taking place during the month of July prior to the convention. Volunteers must attend Mandatory Training. There will also be a Mandatory Volunteer Assembly on Thursday, August 5th.
