About the role of Volunteer

STREET TEAM GUIDELINES AND CONDUCT:

All volunteers must be 18+ and are responsible for their own actions, all venue, staff, building, and city and state laws and rules apply to volunteers.

If a volunteer breaks a rule at any point, he or she will be spoken to and the incident will be logged in their volunteer record. After two incidents, the volunteer's right to volunteer will be revoked and depending on the incident they may be removed from volunteering immediately.

Incidents include, but are not limited to:

  • Complaints from staff, building staff or guests
  • Sexual harassment
  • Physical altercations
  • Harassment of any kind
  • Use of alcohol or other illegal substances is prohibited while on shift during the show or an event, as is being under the influence of the previously mentioned.
  • Theft of property
  • Any negative portrayal of Altered Reality Entertainment (ARE) or its employees, including, but not limited to blogging or social media platforms.
  • Any infraction of the rules
  • Insubordination of team leader or ARE staff
  • Requesting free admission/merchandise from a sponsor/event location
  • Requesting contact information from sponsor locations, celebrities, artists or agents for other events or personal use
  • Inappropriate conduct or interaction with ANY guest, attendee, volunteer or staff member.

Street Team Expectations:

  • Engage Public - always be courteous and polite – as a ARE Street Team member you are the face of ARE
  • Event attendance must be approved by ARE event staff, no drop ins
  • You are expected to participate for the duration of the event. Ample breaks will be provided
  • 24 hours advance notice is requested if you’re unable to attend. Repeated cancellations or late event arrival may result in your removal from the ARE Street Team
  • No self or cross promotion allowed without prior ARE permission
  • You are to remain at the promotional table or your assigned post unless otherwise directed by venue or ARE staff.
  • All street team volunteers must check in at the ARE promotional table or with the designated ARE staff upon event arrival.
  • Cosplay must be family friendly and receive prior approved from ARE Staff (photos to be submitted via email)
  • Personal cosplay photo shoots are not permitted while attending an event in costume. ARE photographs taken will be posted on our event Facebook pages
  • Non cosplay street team volunteers must wear an ARE event t shirt (RICC, ComiCONN, etc). 

The Street Team will work as a team to support our sponsors and the community while promoting for Altered Reality Entertainment. Instances of excluding others and cliques will not be tolerated.

 


Volunteer Terms and Conditions and Release

In consideration of my desire to serve as a volunteer for the Altered Reality Entertainment Street Team, I hereby assume all responsibility for any and all risk of property damage or bodily injury that I may sustain while participating in the event or other activity of any nature, including the use of equipment. Further, I, for myself and my heir, executors, administrators and assigns, hereby release, waive and discharge Altered Reality Entertainment LLC and its officers, directors, employees, agents and volunteers of and from any and all claims which I or my heirs, administrators and assigns ever may have against any of the above for, on account of, by reason of or arising in connection with my volunteer participation therein, and hereby waive all such claims, demands and causes of action. If any portion thereof is held invalid, it is agreed that the balance shall, notwithstanding, continue in full legal force and effect. I currently have no known mental or physical condition that would impair my capability for full participation as intended or expected of me. Further, I have carefully read the foregoing release and indemnification and understand the contents thereof and sign this release as my own, free act and free will.
