AMAZING STORIES, Back in Print!

Main Programming (Britannia C)

Saturday October 6, 2018 - 2:00 pm to 2:50 pm

Amazing Stories was the first ever science fiction magazine; the first magazine devoted to what we now know as "sci-fi." Previously, other magazines had published the occasional "scientifictioin" (that's what Hugo Gernsback called it) story. Edited by Hugo Gernsback (whom the annual reader award, the "Hugo" is named after), it evolved out of his 1912 "Electrical Experimenter," becoming "Amazing Stories" in 1926. Current print publication began at the 2018 WorldCon in San Jose. Panellists will be current columnists with both print and online Amazing Stories.
