Join international instructor and performer Safiya Nawaar for a belly dance workshop and demo focusing on her signature moves. In this class we will move through a variety of classical, ancient and modern belly dance moves taken from Safiya’s 20 years of dance study and travels. Safiya’s specialties are traditional and folkloric dance from Lebanon, Turkey and Persia, but also include Theatrical, Interpretive, Lyrical, Tribaret, American Cabaret and ITS…all of which she loves fusing with cosplay themes when opportunity presents itself. Safiya entertains audiences and workshop participants around the country at stage shows, cosplay & comic cons and movement & music festivals. This belly dance workshop is good for students of any level. A fun energetic class combining stagecraft and emoting, internalizing your movements, and creating beautiful lines through posture and arms.
